81/82 Hutton Circular Bus Route - Working Together Brings Success

I have today received the following update on the bus route situation from Brentwood Borough Council and Essex County Council after making representations on behalf of numerous constituents affected by the withdrawal of this service:

“First have now formally deregistered the 81/82 Shenfield Circular Service.  There has subsequently been a registration by another service operator, Ensign Bus (based in Thurrock), to run the service more or less as now except that they will follow the Saturday route throughout the week (that is, not via Kavanaghs Road/Crescent Road).  This part of the route is not used very much and the London Road part of the circuit is covered by the frequent 498 (TfL) service as well as the 351 and 551 services. Ensign Bus will be running low floor buses from the start.”

I appreciate how concerned many people of all ages were about the  withdrawal of the service by First Eastern Counties Buses and am very pleased I have been able to work with Brentwood Borough Council and Essex County Council to ensure the route is maintained for those who use it on a regular basis.
